On July 8, 2019, Megvii unveiled its AI Ethics Code of Conduct, setting requirements for our employees in areas including integrity, human oversight, technical reliability and safety, fairness and diversity, accountability, and protection of data privacy.

In August 2019, Megvii established a new AI Ethics Committee that sits directly under the board of directors, making it one of the first AI companies in China to set up a dedicated committee for AI ethics. The Committee focuses on discussing and formulating regulations and management practices related to ethical and moral governance of AI, with the primary responsibility of resolving AI ethics issues related to the company's operations.

In January 2020, Megvii established the AI Ethics Research Institute to take a long-term, rational approach to AI governance through in-depth research, constructive dialogue, and persistent action.

In January 2022, Megvii established an Information Security Committee to manage information safety related to the company’s networks, products, data and personal information.
